A Call to Soldiers of the Cross

I do not know how accurate this is, but I recently read a report that said approximately 95% of people who say they believe in Jesus do not seek His guidance in their daily lives through the scriptures, prayer or godly counsel. The report also indicated that those same individuals do not even attempt to honor God by faithfully observing His instructions for life, and give no thought to the life that follows this temporary earth life.

Whether or not this is a reliable report or not, it should at least give us pause for reflection upon our own commitment to the Lordship of Jesus, especially as we are now ending one calendar year and preparing to enter a new one.  Are we falling in step with His plans and purposes or are we doing our own thing?

I am hearing by the Spirit that God is raising up a remnant of OVERCOMERS who will  in fact follow the Captain of the Lords Army into the various battle arenas that He designates, and drive out darkness with light.  Are you one?  Are you one in training?

OVERCOMERS are defined in Revelation 12:11  – And they overcame him (the accuser, liar, destroyer) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and THEY DID NOT LOVE THEIR LIVES UNTO DEATH.

A GOOD SOLDIER, defined as: You therefore must ENDURE HARDSHIP as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier (2 Timothy 2:3 – 2:4)

Are you a good soldier? Or are you one who wants to be a good soldier?  Consider enlisting in  Endtime Warrior Bootcamp.  Bootcamp will NOT be teaching that takes you nowhere, and leaves you just the same as you started.   Bootcamp will provide opportunities for active PARTICIPATION. Bootcamp will provide opportunities for development of your giftings and development of strategies for your unique assignments.

The “Kick-Off Event” is January 22-23, 2016 at New Beginnings in Richland, Ms.

I believe at this time we are all being given the opportunity to be “re-aligned” to the purposes of God, and to be stretched beyond our familiar habits.

It was never the intent of God that we become Christian ‘couch potatoes’, or rather, I mean “pew-sitters”, simply struggling in the flesh to attain the “good life” or the American Dream.  Instead we called to be participating in fulfilling God’s Dream.

Jesus said that we are to be salt and light. Really that means so much more than just being nice people. Yes, it is great to daily walk in love and mercy, doing charitable deeds etc., but we must also be willing to walk in the SUPERNATURAL POWER OF GOD.

Paul said  “I don’t come to you with just words, but in demonstration of the power of God.”  That motivation is not to be just reserved for corporate times of assembly or other “planned” events, but in our ordinary lives when we are aware of the destroyer’s work.

Let me suggest some scriptures and just a few more thoughts for your reflection and meditation as we are getting ready to  begin the mini-lessons. (Most of the lessons will be posted on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.)

  • Acts 10:38 …God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Everywhere Jesus went, after He was revealed in His appointed time/season, He carried with Him:

1. The Anointing (supernatural power of God) to heal and deliver

2. The Authority of God (needed to carry out Heaven’s assignment)

3. The Atmosphere of Heaven (manifesting Presence, Power and Peace)

Nothing was “random” about His ministry or the timing. Nothing was left to happenstance. He was on assignment. And He only did what the Father showed Him, John 5:19.

We are called to walk the same way He walked.  This reality should become our WAKE-UP CALL!

Think, pray and meditate on the following verses:

1. 1 JOHN 2:6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk just as He    walked.

2. 1 John 4:17b  as He is, so are we in this world.

3. Eph. 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God……

4. John 14:12 …the works that I do (you) will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to my Father.

If you will spend time in prayer over these verses you will receive revelation and a hunger to walk in this way.

Remember He has given us anointing, authority, and assignments.  God is not trying to figure out where to use us.  He is waiting on us to discover what we already have, and to use what He has given, wherever He sends us.

ARE YOU ALREADY ARMED AND DANGEROUS?

BEFORE WE BEGIN

If you feel called to function effectively in the ministry of deliverance and/or inner healing, I  encourage you to take time daily to seek the face of the Lord. Read and meditate on His Word, worship, pray, journal and also keep records of what He does through you.

Do not spend all of your time reading books on the subject of deliverance. You will consciously or unconsciously be letting others form you.  The unique work of developing and forming you belongs to the Lord.  Certainly, from time to time He will bring others along, as well as books, that will provide exactly what you need at that moment.

It is important for you to invest yourself into the process through study of the Word, prayer and meditation.  “Winging it” may work once or twice, but a great rule of thumb is to do what God instructed Joshua to do before he entered into conquest of the Promise Land.  Meditate on the word night and day and then YOU will make your way successful. (Read Joshua 1:7-9)

Also, become very observant as to how opportunities around you are unfolding. Are you finding yourself more and more in situations in which you must speak a word of deliverance or healing over someone or into some situation.  Is this your first response when there is a need?

Qualities of a “deliverer” can be observed in the lives of many biblical persons.  In your journal list some of the people God called and used to bring deliverance.

Note some of the characteristics you see in them.  Pray that those will become strengths in your life, if they are not already. Ask God to reveal insights to you regarding their lives and ministries.

In summary, the things that are extremely important for you to do right now, if your feel called to this ministry, are to

1. Develop a deeper personal (working) relationship with the Lord.

2. Sing to the Lord without CD’s

-Sing songs you remember.

-Make up songs to the Lord.

-Sing the Psalms and other scriptures

3. Study.

4. Keep a record of your experiences.

5. Keep a record of revelations.

6. Make yourself available to go and do what He puts before you.

Eph 5:19-20 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things to God
